Tennessee Valley Golf Works began with a simple invitation that would change the direction of my life.
I picked up a golf club for the first time as a freshman in high school after being asked to join the golf team. I had never played before, and honestly, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. What started as an unexpected opportunity quickly became something I genuinely fell in love with.
Then, during my sophomore year, I decided to play football as well. Unfortunately, that season brought an unexpected setback when I suffered a broken femur. It was one of the hardest things I had ever gone through. Recovery took time, patience, and a lot of determination. For roughly six months, I wasn't able to practice golf at all.
Being away from the game was difficult. Golf had become something I cared deeply about, and suddenly I couldn't do the thing I had spent so much time working toward. But that time away taught me something I still carry with me today: sometimes progress isn't about how quickly you move forward, but how willing you are to keep moving when things don't go according to plan.
When I was finally able to return to golf, I had to start rebuilding. I worked my way back, one practice session and one swing at a time. The setback made me appreciate the game even more, and it gave me a different perspective on how much golf meant to me.
By my junior year, I was shooting in the low 40s for nine holes, earned a sectional qualification, and began to realize just how far I could take the game if I continued to put in the work.
My senior year became a season I'll never forget. I recorded more than 10 first-place finishes, won a double county championship, and qualified for sectionals for a second time. But as meaningful as those accomplishments were, what stayed with me most wasn't the scorecard. It was everything golf had taught me along the way — the friendships, the long days on the course, the frustration of a bad round, the satisfaction of seeing hard work pay off, and the constant pursuit of becoming a little better than I was the day before.
Golf became more than just a sport to me. It became something I wanted to carry with me long after high school.
I've always wanted to build something that could give back to the game that gave so much to me. Tennessee Valley Golf Works is my way of doing that.
Whether it's giving an old set of clubs a fresh set of grips, helping someone find a quality used club, or offering a few well-chosen goods for the course, the goal is simple:
Help golfers enjoy the game a little more.
I believe there's something special about taking care of the equipment you play with. A fresh grip can make an old club feel new again. The right club can bring confidence to a player's game. And sometimes, it's the smallest details that make a round more enjoyable.
Tennessee Valley Golf Works was built from a genuine love for golf and a desire to share that passion with other golfers. It's rooted in the lessons I learned both on and off the course — work hard, appreciate the opportunity, stay humble, overcome the setbacks, and always keep moving forward.
From picking up my first club as a freshman, to overcoming an injury that kept me away from the game, to competing at the highest level I had reached in high school, this business is a continuation of the game that started it all.
What began with someone simply asking me to join a golf team eventually became a passion, a journey, and now a business I hope can become something meaningful for other golfers.
Welcome to Tennessee Valley Golf Works.
